TSPROF K4 — an innovative knife sharpening system that combines advanced technology with unparalleled precision.
Pivot Mechanism
The force required to flip the clamp frame can be smoothly adjusted with a screw on the back cover of the pivot mechanism. A full locking feature is also available, which is useful for major blade re-profiling, during long grinding sessions when the blade is subject to high loads and vibrations, and when sharpening particularly long blades that require extra protection from accidental flipping. The scheme for fixing movable elements inside the assembly has been completely changed. This results in greater rigidity when holding the frame in the horizontal position, with the frame deviation under a force of 30 N being only 0.1°.
Rack-and-Pinion Lifter
Its design allows for easier, faster, and more precise angle setting. The movable elements of the lifter can be locked with one hand, providing reliable fixation at the set position. There are three ways to set the angle: coarse adjustment (with a precision of up to 1°) using the sliding carriage, fine adjustment (up to 0.1°) with the rack-and-pinion lifter, and ultra-fine adjustment (up to 0.01°) with the micro-feed mechanism. The micro-feed mechanism allows for angle changes with a precision of less than 0.1°, which is especially useful for burr removal and when working with particularly thin abrasives.
Compensator
A removable compensator for abrasive thickness difference is implemented on the rack-and-pinion lifter, allowing you to quickly hit the desired angle when changing stones.
Abrasive Holder
A fundamentally new method of fastening the limiters and the coupling on the guide rod ensures increased reliability and immobility of the elements during operation. Instead of point fixation with a screw, fixation is now achieved over an area, through cylindrical couplings with holes. The force required to fix the elements has been reduced, and the possibility of damaging the surface of the guide rod has been eliminated. The front stop of the guide rod allows for easy removal and installation of the abrasive stone. A screw with a spring-loaded ball installed in the stop limits its free rotation on the guide rod and ensures smoother movement. The pivot joint uses a stainless steel-brass sliding pair, ensuring smooth movement of the guide rod during operation.
Parking
Familiar to TSPROF K03 users, the parking feature using a limiter and a brake disc has undergone minor changes in its kinematic scheme and has become even more convenient.
Quick-Release Electronic Angle Gauge Axicube-i with Removable Battery
The angle gauge is located on the far stop of the guide rod, with the ability to be quickly installed and removed to reduce the load on the abrasive during work and for convenient charging away from the sharpening system. The picatinny rail mount, combined with a set screw and magnet, ensures easy and reliable fixation of the angle gauge for precise sharpening angle measurements. The device is charged via a USB type-C connector.
Quick Clamps
The TSPROF Quick eccentric clamp allows for reliable clamping of knives with a thickness from 1 to 7 mm. It provides a fast and easy way to clamp a knife with a force of 300 N without the use of screwdrivers. The design of the TSPROF clamps has been stress-analyzed using the finite element method. The material thickness and structural elements are calculated so that stresses are evenly distributed along the entire length of the clamp, ensuring uniform closure of the jaws during clamping.
Removable Frame
You can remove the knife, without taking it out of the clamps, at any stage of sharpening. You can check the condition of the cutting edge and return the knife to its original position in the sharpening system. There is no need to re-set the sharpening angle, re-position the knife in the clamps, or hit the bevel again. The frame is compatible with all clamps of the TSPROF K03, TSPROF Kadet, and TSPROF Pioneer sharpening systems.
More Sharpening Options for Various Knives
The layout of the sharpening system’s components allows for setting a sharpening angle per side in the range of 9° to 39.5° for knives up to 430 mm long.
Robust Construction and Stable Base
The stand’s design not only features an updated look but also provides convenience for carrying the product, allowing you to comfortably hold the device with one hand. The system is attached to a milled base with three quick-release fasteners, which securely fix the system’s stand to a steel plate. Thanks to its shape, weight, and thin, wide shock absorbers, the system will remain stationary on this base during sharpening.

I am the owner of a K03 and I really like the upgrades they made to the system on the K4. The micro adjustments, ability to remove the clamp bar with the knife still clamped, the adjustability and the ability to remove the axiicube, the more robust construction and turning mechanism, and the improved rod connections and ability to lock the angle adjustments in place are all really nice upgrades. I had no problem ordering from the Asia distributor. My orders have all arrived to the USA quickly and well packaged.
I’ve owned 2 Kadets, a T03 and now the top of the line K4. It has several “spot on” up grades that I use every time I use the sharpener. It starts with the new turning mechanism that has the tension control in the back thats stiffens to resist moving to less than 0.1 Deg under 30 N load, and allows removing the clamp bar with the knife still in the clamps. Very convenient. Then there is the now removable axicube mounted on a standard Picatinny rail which lightens the rod during sharpening sessions. A totally cool additional capability is the three levels of height/sharpening angle control giving control down to 0.01deg of the angle. There is a sharpening plate thickness compensator to boot. Overall, they have hit a real home run with the k4 system. It is a complete iteration of development above all other systems. It is well worth up grading from the T03 system which was the reining king of the hill in the fixed angle clamp systems universe. The K4 now stands alone on top.
Having owned both the K03 and K03 Al models, I can confidently assert that the K4 sharpening device represents a substantial advancement and distinguishes itself as one of the finest options available. I highly recommend it to anyone who engages in sharpening as a hobby, and I eagerly anticipate future innovations in sharpening technology.
