All description
Diamond plate F220 Coarse is used for shaping the cutting edge.
They work noticeably more aggressively than bars on organic and metal bonds with similar grain size. This is achieved due to protruding diamond grains, while in metal and organic binder diamond grains are recessed in the binder and mixed with it. The grain size concentration in the layer is 100%. At the same time, it should be noted that such stones will be inferior to other bonded stones in terms of work duration due to the thin layer of sputtering, which is actively erased in the process of sharpening.
It is also important to take into account that when working with such diamonds on soft steels, hardness up to 58 HRC, this type of bars is produced faster than when working on steels with high hardness.
Electroplated diamond plates do not require preparation for work (leveling, “cheering up”, etc.).
Abrasive size: 4x25x150 mm
GritGrit: 220 grit (FEPA-F)
Because of production peculiarities, abrasive width and length may have deviations from the values specified in the description up to 5%.
Significant stains on the surface of the abrasive may occur, which do not affect the operation.
Recommendations for use:plates work without the use of coolants and water.
Warning! Bar requires careful work: do not press on the abrasive during sharpening (especially when sharpening the tip/ankle of the knife), do not allow to break off the plane of the blade and fall the bar on a hard surface.
Technostudio Profile:
“Galvanic bonding is a method of sputtering in which diamond particles are attached to a coated base and a layer of metallic bonding is deposited from an electrolyte, covering and fixing the diamond grains. The method makes it possible to obtain diamond-containing coatings on complex shaped surfaces and to create thin (up to 0.4 mm) diamond-containing elements and coatings. Galvanic binder is characterized by the fact that it holds diamond grains only due to mechanical forces of adhesion, so the grains should be overgrown with binder to a height of at least 65-70% of the grain size. The metal that securely holds the abrasive grain on the steel body is nickel. It gives the tool high strength, durability and performance.”
